Good friends of ours had to put their beekeeping on hold for a year while they sorted out a job change and relocation. I borrowed Jesse’s empty hives last year and filled them with rescued honeybee swarms. We nurtured those colonies through the fall and winter. Then, on February 18 with temperatures in the 50s, Jesse and I moved the foster bees to his new property.
Their new home had been lovingly landscaped by a master gardener for nearly three decades. It’s a true pollinator paradise!
